One item every room needs is a live plant and with that plant should come a pretty planter. Not only are plants aesthetically pleasing but they purify the air. Studies have shown they can reduce stress levels and boost your mood so add one to every room. If you are thinking of going fake, don't! Fake plants are just dust collectors and you don't reap the benefits of a live plant. If you don't have a green thumb buy an inexpensive option and replace it as needed. There are many plant options that don't take too much care, try a cane plant or a palm.
